To begin their study of the human muscular system, the 11th Grade Anatomy Class was given a hands-on project by Mrs. Dormois.
The class was first divided into groups, with each one choosing a muscle on which to focus. Within each group two students sculpted the muscles and connecting tendons using modeling clay and a table-top skeleton; one student painted them using watercolor and paper; and the fourth wrote a report about them. Students were evaluated on the construction and placement of the muscle group as well on craftsmanship and accuracy.
